How One Week Can Rewrite a Student’s Future
Last Friday was officially the last day of ACAP. The last day after of full week of events, trying to figure it out, dorm room shenanigans, giggles and making new friends.
For us NABA INC Boston Chapter , it is the realization of a vague idea brought by our "Moteur" Dr. Josh T. Nwozor CISA,MSc,MBA,PhD and the amazing coordination of Adrienne Abreu-Riley and the wonderful leadership of our president Antoine Junior Melay, MBA.
To all the mentors and student coaches, who volunteered, you are amazing! You are growth. You are the future of US and we are so proud of you. I was so happy to see you being so involved, so giving in supporting our high school students. Retracing the steps, the confusion that many years ago you went through and using this as a guide to be the best role models. Thank you.
And while I was in between identities and figuring out, planning felt like a mountain but happened. My NABA team made it happen. Congratulations of this vision becoming reality. We pulled up and I am so grateful for the founders that I called and who said yes to building legacy and supporting this group of amazing high school students.
Thank you to Andrew Rea for your authenticity and candor. I know that your journey will serve as a reminder on how competitive disadvantages can become advantages with the right mindset and execution. Sales tax is not sexy, but these young minds dream of it, through you.
Albert Owusu-Asare, I am forever grateful for your generosity. With little notice, you shared how entrepreneurship isn't about avoiding difficulty - it's about developing the emotional regulation and support systems to persist through inevitable challenges while making strategic choices about when to take calculated risks. Cadana's is being watched now by forty young minds, so it better get to that successful ending.
Nicolas Kopp, you should be so proud of Alex Johnston. She shared her career journey with so much authenticity and candor and was an amazing represantative for Rillet. Sharing how Accounting, AI and Tech can inspire the best of us to become more, more than accountants, more than debit credits... You have a real one.
To KPMG US, thank you for being a generous supporter, a generous sponsor, and so generous of your time. You will always be remembered as the first office tour, the first Big 4 who opened its doors to these students. This will go a long way.
To Robert Half, Corey Adams and Jerry Nemorin, the generosity of your time will be rewarded.
Thank you to MassCPAs and Professor Bob Cargill for your insightful presentations engaging and appreciated by our students.
To Renande Loayza your quiet support made ACAP at Bentley possible. Thank you.
Again Adrienne Abreu-Riley and Ian Abreu-Riley the heartbeat of ACAP, you are golden.
And to our amazing counselors you held it down from start to finish. You made the students feel seen, safe, and supported.
We see you. We thank you. We’re better because of you.
